In process management within the Code Contract platform, it’s not always possible to anticipate from the start every person who should be involved. New managers, auditors, or collaborators may need to join after a workflow has already been launched.

In these cases, adding a participant to a running process is the best way to ensure that information reaches everyone involved and that tasks continue without interruptions. This functionality provides flexibility, avoids having to restart processes, and keeps them aligned with the organization’s operational reality.

This is especially useful when:

• A new team member joins.
• An additional approver is required.
• A stage needs extra supervision.
• A third party with read or monitoring permissions must be included.

Steps to add a participant to a running process

1. Go to the Processes section
   From the platform, navigate to the Processes section and select the running process where you want to add the new participant.
   
2. Locate the corresponding phase or task
   Find the active or upcoming phase where the new person should participate
   
3. Add the new participant
   Select the Add participant option, choose the person from the contact directory, and assign them a role within the process. If the contact doesn’t exist, you can create a new one.
   
4. Define the role of the new participant
   Set the role of the new participant (sender, validator, or receiver) according to the task they will perform.
   
5. Save and confirm the changes
   Confirm the update so the new participant is immediately added to the running process. The platform will automatically issue the request with the updated list of participants.
